Digital innovation has become ubiquitous and it is now transforming the insurance companies that embrace it to reinvent their business models. Gone are the days of apprehension, today digital is seen as the catalyst for boosting the insurance industry.

Argus de l’Assurance, the French insurance industry publisher, held its 1st edition of the Digital Innovation Awards last Tuesday 15th December evening in Paris to highlight and honour the companies that stood out during 2015.

The event was attended by more than one hundred of well respected business executives within the French insurance industry. There were 49 received nominations from which seven initiatives – from insurance, bancassurance, brokerage and even start-ups – were awarded in different categories. The jury, composed of 13 personalities of the sector, also insisted on selecting a favorite deemed to be a bold and innovative solution.

The website was recognised for its innovation, particularly through its approach focused on user expectations with an adaptable content

Best IoT (Internet Of Things) Innovation: the offer “Pay How You Drive “Allianz drive connected” from Allianz France, which allows good drivers to get a discount on their policy.

Best for management of digital customer relationship: the Generali Patrimoine offer that allows business clients to take out an e-contract in “three key steps” lasting no more than 10 minutes.

Best internal strategy for company’s digital transformation: the acculturation Digistrat 6-step project for the contributors digital’s challenges of Natixis Assurances

Digital Personality of the Year: Delphine Asseraf, Digital Director of Allianz France

Jury’s Favorite: Allianz, “Your expert from the sky”, the company’s solution designed with its network of experts and drones technology to inspect the damages located in hazardous or difficult to access areas.
